REUNION TOWER & HYATT REGENCY
Dallas’ iconic 50-story Reunion Tower and the connecting 1,120-room Hyatt Regency Dallas are owned by Hunt-Reunion, Inc., a subsidiary of Hunt Realty Investments, Inc. The Hyatt Regency Dallas features 1,600 square feet of public function space, including three ballrooms, two exhibit halls, 56 meeting rooms and 42 hospitality suites. The silhouette of the hotel and its adjoining landmark—the 50-story Reunion Tower—have given the Dallas skyline worldwide recognition. Recently renovated to include state-of-the-art amenities, the hotel is also connected to the historic Union Station, a transportation center with office, banquet, meeting and special event space.
KEY FEATURES:
UNION STATION
Originally opened in 1916, Union Station is Dallas’ historic railroad terminal. In 1972, the city of Dallas purchased the building. Under a public-private agreement, Hunt executed a long-term lease and began a renovation restoring Union Station to a multitenant, mixed-use building. Today, after a major repositioning and renovation in 2008, Union Station remains a transportation center with office, banquet and meeting space, as well as a walkway linking the station to the Hyatt Regency Dallas and Reunion Tower.
KEY FEATURES:
REUNION LAND ASSEMBLAGE
The land at Reunion was originally acquired by Hunt in 1975 and consisted of approximately 21 acres of unimproved land and 10 acres of air rights within the Reunion development in downtown Dallas.
In 2012, the company successfully completed a land swap with the city of Dallas, exchanging the portion of Hunt Realty’s land holdings at Reunion, known as the Cockrell Tract, for a key tract of land that was the former site of Reunion Arena—also located in the Reunion development.
Today, Hunt Realty owns a contiguous assemblage of 31 acres in downtown Dallas, one of the largest assemblages of undeveloped land in the downtown area of a major city in the United States. This site represents excellent future development potential for a strategic use that will complement and enhance the company’s holdings within the Reunion district.
